Chase @ 23 Months, Bryce at 4 Months
Chase actually was extending his arm out to push Bryce away (in annoyance), but it looked like a punch in the video. Fortunately, Bryce was not hurt – he was surprised more than anything. We all were!
This video was recorded about a month ago and it's taken me that long to be able to watch it without getting upset. It looks so much worse than it really is. Now I can look back on it and smile, because Chase loves his little brother so much and the video is quite deceiving! He is so sweet, playful, and affectionate with him.
I appreciate this footage because it's something we can tease Chase about later in life! I'm glad Derek didn't delete it a month ago like I begged him to!

Aww! He scared me too!
There will be plenty more of those from them both I’m sure, keep up the good work mama, it’s just the beginning! Chase has a mind of a 6 year old when it comes to his TV time
lol I so was not expecting to see that. Clearly Chase was not in the mood to be bothered. Don’t worry siblings fight doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. Again, your boys are adorable.!!!!
OMG, Yakini, this video is EPIC! I had to rewind 5 times. You were TOO stunned. LOL @ the comment about it ’bout to go down! I saw some Jayden in Chase there. One day on a playdate, Jay busted my friend’s newborn straight in the face with a toy. I was like aw lawd!!! Luckily, like Bryce, she was fine.
GIRLLLLL! I was expecting to see Chase talk affectionately to his little brother. I guess he didn’t want to be distracted while watching Moose A. Moose. I understand. I love Moose and Zee too.
Thanks so much for commenting on my last post. I see you, too are having your hands full being the mommy of two little boys. My youngest (1) is always trying to grab what the oldest (3) has and vice versa so you have more tug of wars on the way. But it’s a beautiful sight to see them hug, kiss, and love on each other when they’re not jockeying for position in my lap or for the “best” toy car. Wishing you more love and happiness than your heart can hold as you raise your young men!
P.S.
Do you want more? I plan on having at least one more, maybe two when the time is right. I love children!
Hey there! It’s Andria stopping by from Lipstick & Lullabies! Thanks so much for your kind words
I am following back. BTW your kids are adorable!
All kids get so wrapped up in their shows sometimes that it is impossible to reach them. And it is so obvious that Bryce is going to be doggedly following his big brother around for many years to come as he already looks like he adores him, and hopefully it will never come to more than this flick of frustration.
Thanks for stopping by, happy belated WW
Aww, kids do so many things without meaning to. Glad nobody was hurt!
Oooooh… somebody’s gonna get a beatin’! LOL. Personally, I blame that dang-blasted Moose A. Moose. He hypnotizes these kids and subliminally instructs them to ignore everyone but him. We should picket outside Nick Jr’s HQ.
lol, sibo commented on the same thing shahid and i were cracking up about…chase’s facial expression immediately following the beatdown, hahaha!! mad sinister and menacing….a warning look joint, hahhahaha!!
and i def noticed the nursing boobage as well, hahahaha!!
lol, when u told derek to shut off the camera, it looked like it was about to go DOWN, hahaha!!! yeah man, as everyone indicated, it doesnt stop anytime soon. garvey and shabazz be AT IT. fortunately, she is getting to the point where she is starting to defend herself against his antics. we wont be there all the time as their protectors, which is why it has to be emphasized that they are one another’s keepers.
lol @ bibi attempting to present chase as a pacifist. “chase has changed…that’s not the chase that i know.” hahhahah, puh-lease!!!
Those of us with siblings can fully understand. That will probably be the first of many pushes, scratches, and annoying dismiss moments in their life. Those little babies are very resilient. If he sat there he would’ve been pulling on him again about 5 minutes later
. They are both too adorable.

Ok, I literally held my face and gasped!!! OMG!!!! Poor Chase, he was watching his television program! I’m glad that was your house and not mine because that would have been footage for Dept of Children and Social Service as I’m certain my first reaction would have been to pop him…you handled that well, the surprise/horror/terror/confusion/concern was expressed on your face! I guess this is just the first of many Sibling moments betweent the two of them..Chase better watch out though…younger siblings have a way of sitting back until their big enough to hit back!
Oh goodness! I think this happens to everyone with really little ones. Looks like Chase was really into the Moose and Zee segment about the Eco-Rangers. They will both be able to watch this video when they are older and laugh about it. It’s still a very cute video
never ever delete videos of kids… you’ll want to look back on this someday…
hey sweets,
as you’ve said, it’s no big deal. kids do that stuff all the time.
thanx for sharing! i’ll be sure not to earn chase’s wrath when we’re together again!
The kids are so cute!
im in love with the footage…that’s truly beautiful!
Hey Yaki!!! Jariana just showed me the video. I couldn’t help but chuckle when Chase made his sudden move. I was so caught off guard. I mean it was so sudden. He was into his show. I am happy you kept the video, because you could tell he really didn’t mean any harm. Hopefully you won’t have to, but you will appreciate the innocence of it all when you are refereeing the real deal. We have experienced those moments. My heart went out to you, because I saw how you were taken aback. Presently, the girls go through their moments of Janae constantly calling Jariana. Jariana does not answer her because she is clearly focused on whatever it is that she is doing. Suddenly Jariana will YELL, WHAT JANAE!!!!!! Janae cries, Jariana says I didn’t mean to yell, but she needs to wait. When my friends and I share stories, my home doesn’t seem so looney after all. Thanks for the video and the boys are soooo cute!!!!!!
Honey, you have 2 boys, it won’t be the last scuffle!
chase’s look to the camera after he sucker punches bryce is my favorite part–that look of slight guilt, slight satisfaction. LOL!
and in your defense, as your sister–we grew up w/all girls, no boys in the house..so there was no play-fighting or hitting tolerated, ever. (not to my knowledge, anyway — rather, our thing was to fight with words..and viciously, lol!) so it may just take a while to get used to having that testosterone/aggression in the house, because it’s just not something we grew up seeing.
When i saw this, i said omg!! And was shocked at his reaction! It was not the Chase i knew. Lol
Today, he is the exact opposite and will probably punch someone out if they bothered his Brycie. Here in Maryland, he has me tickled over his love for Bryce. Im amazed over how attentive, loving, and caring he is of both is baby brother and his 81 yr old great grammy! He is truly a big brother who is neither selfish nor jealous of his Brycie. No struggle, no progress! (Frederik Douglass)
I must be the only person who has something to say about something else in the vid. Girl you flashing some boobies! HA Glad the little one wasn’t hurt. In Chase defense he was watching TV and ya’ll was disturbing him
The look on your face was priceless! And the cameraman was still rolling. LOL. Just a tinge of sibling rivalry and envy. Chase was so used to be the only star but now he has to share. They will be the best of buddies. You mark my words
Had a similar incident happen about two days ago. Israel decided to kick his 9 month old brother in the chest…You have to listen closely to your video to find the underlying humor in it.
If you pay attention to the televsion Moose A. Moose who’s voice every parent should recognize was giving us some of his ECO-Ranger advice about turning off lights when we’re not using them. Then WAP!! Chase sucker punches Bryce right before this disclaimer for Yo Gabba Gabba comes on: “Yo Gabba Gabba encourages kids to move their bodies…”
So I blame Yo Gabba Gabba…he was just moving his body..
I give you so much credit for posting this. Usually your posts especially wordless wednesdays are very light hearted. But reality is, stuff happens. Glad Bryce was okay. Chase was seriously in man mode with that show, lol.
I actually dropped my brother when he was a baby, by tripping over my dads toolbox.(he wasnt hurt) I was scared to death, he was crying, I was crying. But now, I chuckle at it. So yes, we all have these moments.
Glad it wasn’t a big deal. I have a picture where it looks like I am sending my sister’s stroller racing down the block but in my head I was thinking “whee” and that I was playing with her! The picture looks awful cause she’s crying but nothing happened! My mom still cracks up at that picture. Guess we all have something from out childhood
Mine were the same, they learn to deal with interruptions from the littler ones!
Glad they’re ok
Awww! The first sibling fight is always the hardest. You’ll eventually get used to it! You can tell already that Bryce is head over heels for his big brother!
I must admit I was shocked by the video, I was expecting something more happy. I guess no real harm was done…
Thanks for the disclaimer that Bryce wasn’t hurt, I would have responded the same exact way!! YIKES!!! Chase was into his show honey…Moose A. Moose is serious business!! LOL! I know all about sibling rivalry….although my two girls adore each other and would go to the end of the Earth and back for each other, THEY ARE ALWAYS AT IT! LOL! Hubby and I call them Tom & Jerry!! The boys are Adorable.
BTW, you are SUPER Prissy to your core girl!! !LMBO!!!
nice boy.
Happy WW
So yea… I just did the exact same gasp. HAHA. I’m sure Bryce was not hurt, just surprised. lol. Chase actually looked like he was busy (watching a fave show, I suppose?) and was not in the mood to be bothered. Not even by his little brother whom he loves dearly. We all have our moments.
And wow… you are SO brave for posting this video and showing all sides of your family. That’s amazing. I applaud you for that.
Looks like Chase didn’t want to be bothered at the moment. Bryce didn’t look like he cried and glad to hear he wasn’t hurt.
thinking of my husband who’s the little brother of his family, it’ll be interesting to play this back in the future especially if bryce ends up bigger than chase, which is what happened to my husband. he’s 6’8″ now but was always the shrimp until he suddenly shot up and could dish out payback on his older brothers!
Well, you know Chase is only a baby himself! Not even 2 yet! Frankly, I’d be pissed if someone was sticking their hand in my face when I was watching the tube
lol why did I just gasp as loud as you did even though I read the discription before I watched lol. Boys! smh I grew up with 2 brothers so I saw this ALOT but your boys look so sweet so I’m sure it was no big deal! Soon you’ll be able to just roll your eyes at it and walk away lol
I know, sometimes it’s hard for us moms not to react the way we do.
Happy WW!
LOL! I know, I know. I was hella dramatic. It was just so upsetting in the moment.
Glad I can look back on it and smile (a little) now though.
Why did I gasp in horror!!! LOL..only because your reaction was sooo horrific! LOL..i swear…I think you might have scared us more with your gasp. LOL…but Chase was trying to get his TV on..and he was not hearing it w/ having a conversation right now. It’ll be ok….:)
my guys are 5 years apart. and tho the oldest was thrilled in the beginning to have a little brother, it did not take long for him to become a little pest, LOL! Yes, I think you may have a little blackmail leverage on hand with this video, LOL! thanks for so much stopping by & commenting. I love to meet new bloggers & read about their lives as well.
~hugs, Faythe @GMT
Thanks for your comment, JB! As always, I LOVE getting the “male perspective” on here.
Hahahaha, I think I was just SO stunned that it happened, and I reacted so instinctively…. barking at Derek to turn off the camera (lol). Even I have to chuckle at my dramatic reaction though, when I watch it again. But…. it sure wasn’t dramatic when it happened. We were so upset at Chase.
However, in his defense, we were kind of “pushing” Bryce on him, which we had promised ourselves we would never do.
And you are right, I know I’m in for a lifetime of their sibling rivalry and rough-housing, so I guess I better toughen up now! LMao!!!
I hope you can take this jokingly but you are truly such a Prissy Mommy! As a guy that grew up with a brother that was four years older than me I have had my fair share of times being brushed aside for getting on my brother’s nerves. The good thing about what happened is that it seems as though his intention was not to hurt his little brother but to just stop Bryce from distracting him. I actually chuckled a little bit more at your gasp and reaction than I did Chase’s brush off. Those boys are gonna be so cool with one another that you will soon be the odd person of the equation. Boys will be boys.
lol aww..that was a little shocking to watch! glad it wasn’t a big deal though
Just the beginning of that sibling rivalry. That was his easy way of saying, “Can’t you see I’m watching tv?” Before you know it they’ll be going at it and blaming each other for who started it.
